Purpose

This article goes into detail on how to use authentication with Azure Active Directory

Solution

Currently, Microsoft doesn't provide direct LDAP access to their Azure Active Directory product. Therefore JIRA can't be configured to use it using the LDAP Protocol and standard LDAP Connectors. JIRA does however provide the option for Custom Authenticators as per Single Sign-on Integration with JIRA and Confluence so integration may be possible through this method, but no known implementation exist.

If you're using Crowd for your user management, the Office 365 Directory Connector for Crowd is a 3rd party application that allows you to connect your Azure / Office 365 directory to Crowd as if it were a standard LDAP directory.

You can watch  CWD-3607 - Getting issue details... STATUS  for more info into when a direct connection to Crowd may be implemented.
