Behaviour of mail notifications in Insight

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Setting up mail notifications for Insight:
As long as your SMTP server defined for Jira itself is up and running the notifications should be sent also for Insight in relationship to:
Insight automation rule set to send a mail notifications as action.
Insight user watching an object and any comment is added to the object.
Exceptions:
The only situation when the notification will be not sent with the user mention in objects comment, is when the logged in user is mentioning himself.
