Symptoms

Receive the warning:

This feature is not available in Internet Explorer prior to version 9. You can enter classic mode to see the diagram.

Enter 'Classic Mode' > 'Text Mode' > 'Diagram' and return to the new workflow editor.

Moving a transition graphic in 'Classic Mode' workflow editor and the edit is not displayed in the new workflow editor 

Cause

When trying to access the workflow editor the default view is the new workflow editor.  IE8 is unable to support the new editor. 

Selecting the 'Classic Mode' as required by IE8 will not be remembered as the preferred option.

The new workflow does not synchronise graphically with 'Classic Mode'

Resolution

  • Enter into 'Classic' mode only if you are using IE8
  • If you need to perform edits in 'Text' and 'Classic Mode' reduce the impact by completing all 'Classic Mode' edits before toggling between 'Text'
  • Alternatively, if you have access to another browser or updated version of IE, you can use the new workflow editor
