Symptoms
When cloning a JIRA Issue, the Sprint information will also be cloned. This is currently being tracked here:
- JSWSERVER-6541 - Ability to clone an issue without cloning Agile sprint information
- JSWSERVER-10548 Cloned issues inherit the Completed Sprint value and can't be removed
Prior to 7.2 version
- Utilize a post functions provided by JIRA Suite Utilities(JSU) to clear the values of the fields "Sprint" and "Story Points" on the Create Issue transition.
For details on Adding a post function.
JIRA Suite Utilities is available on Atlassian Marketplace.
Note that if you use this option, the same will apply for every new created issue on projects using the same workflow.
7.2 version and above
As mentioned on JIRA 7.2.x release notes, You can now choose whether to include or exclude the sprint value when you clone an issue.
