Confluence page link does not show up in Jira Issue

Summary

In some cases, confluence page link does not show up in Jira issue's linked Confluence content even though Jira issue is added to confluence page using Jira issue macro.

Cause

When Jira issue was linked from a confluence page using Jira issue macro, the user performed these actions did not have Link Issues permission in target Jira PROJECT. In such cases, reciprocal link is not created. This leads to a scenario where confluence page shows Jira issue is added to page using Jira issue macro but opening the Jira issue does not show the related confluence page in Jira. Basically, the user who is adding Jira issue link in confluence page should have Link Issues permission for that issue while performing the action.

Solution

  • User with Link issues permission can edit existing confluence page, remove the issue link from the page.
  • Add Jira issue issue once again using Jira issue macro and publish the page.
  • This will create links on both sides.
