Gadget showing Sum of Issues with Priority Critical and Blocker

Problem
This behaviour occurred on JIRA 6.3.9.
Gadget that has been listed in Diagnosis is showing sum of the issues from priority Critical and Blocker. For this example, let's use Pie Chart gadget (Statistic Type: Priority):
- When the filter that being used in the gadget includes issues that have priority Critical and Blocker, the gadget shows sum of both Priority and Blocker is now shown in the gadget.
- When the filter is modified to exclude Critical (filter includes Blocker), the gadget shows issues that have priority Blocker and the sum is correct.
- When the filter is modified to exclude Blocker (filter includes Critical), the gadget shows issues that have priority Critical and the sum is correct
Diagnosis
Issue sums in the following gadgets is not showing issues with Blocker priority, instead it sums the issues with priority Critical and Blocker:
- Heat Map (Statistic Type: Priority)
- Pie Chart (Statistic Type: Priority)
- Two Dimensional Filter Statistics (XAxis: Priority or YAxis: Priority)
Cause
When performing the reproduction of the problem with fresh vanilla JIRA 6.3.9, there is no such problem with the gadget. The root cause of this problem is unknown.
Workaround
You may try the workaround on your testing/staging JIRA instance with your production JIRA data. Please use XML backup to export and import the data over.
- Create a new Priority with any configuration. Please refer to Defining Priority Field Values
- Refresh the gadgets and check if the problem is solved.
- You may delete the temporary created Priority.
