Change the Atlassian organization name

Platform Notice: Cloud - This article applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.

Summary

The organization name is a way to identify the organization. When changed, it won't affect anything and won't change your URL.

Changing the Organization's name

Changing the organization name itself should have no user-facing effects. The only place it should be visible is to you within admin.atlassian.com. That also means that changing the organization name won't trigger a change in your instance name. When you create your instance, the default organization name inherits the name for your instance URL, but it doesn't work in reverse (because you can ultimately link multiple instances to your single organization).

Here are the steps to change the Organization name:

  1. Access admin.atlassian.com.
  2. Select the Organization.
  3. Navigate to settings.
  4. Change the Organization name and click Save.
The Atlassian administration settings page, showing the organization name field, currently set to Test. The Save and Cancel buttons are visible below. The Settings option is highlighted in the top navigation bar.
