JIRA Cloud Commits in JIRA Issues Not Showing Up

Symptoms

Developer commits from Bitbucket or Github but commit messages are not showing in JIRA issues.

Cause

  • The email address cannot be found in JIRA (needs to match the email address defined in Git or Mercurial).
  • The email address is not configured in Git or Mercurial (needs to match the email address defined in JIRA).
  • User doesn't have permission to log work.
  • User doesn't have permission to view development tools.
  • The DVCS connector failed to sync your repo(s). Check  DCON-211 - Getting issue details... STATUS  and  DCON-437 - Getting issue details... STATUS .

Resolution

  • Define the email address in JIRA to match the email address defined in .gitconfig or .hgrc.
  • User should configure an email address in .hgrc or .gitconfig that matches the email address defined in JIRA
  • Grant user permission to log work in JIRA.
  • Grant user permission to view development tools.
  • Submit a report request so that support can check your JIRA log to pinpoint the exact root cause (which may or may not be related to  DCON-437 - Getting issue details... STATUS  and  DCON-211 - Getting issue details... STATUS ) .
