Summary

When running a migration plan to migrate Jira Server projects to Jira Cloud, the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) plugin may report errors migrating boards that are only tied to a single board administrator.

Environment

Jira Server and Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) 1.0 and higher.

Cause

In an effort to ensure that boards arriving in the destination cloud do not become orphaned, a safe guard is in place to alert to any board with one or less board administrators.

Solution

To resolve this error, you will need to configure an additional administrator on the Board notated in the returned error code.

  1. Navigate to the desired board, then select More ( …) >  Board Settings

  2. On the Board settings screen, click any of the name(s) in the Administrators field (a 'pencil' icon will appear when you hover over them).

  3. Enter the names of the desired users or groups. If you start typing the name, a list of users and groups will be suggested. Press the Enter key when finished.

Other Notes

For troubleshooting other JCMA related errors, please refer to this documentation for help Troubleshooting errors and non-migrated entities with the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant
