Limit Jira Service Management visibility to customers on portal
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.
Purpose
You may need to restrict which customers can view the customer portal (and submit requests) for a service project on your help center. Service projects offer an option to restrict access to it.
These instructions can be used as a workaround to hide a portal from customers while you are setting up the project. Once ready, you can add customers to it or change the project's access permissions. Read more on how customer access settings impact project permissions.
If you'd like a feature to fully disable/hide a service project's portal, please be sure to vote for and leave your feedback on the feature request:
Solution
- Go to Project settings > Customer permissions.
- Under Service project access, pick Customers added by agents and admins.
- Save.
This will restrict the project to customers and customer organizations specifically added to the project, meaning no customers will be able to view the portal for the project unless an agent or administrator adds them to it.
Please note that as a project administrator, you will still view the project's portal on your help center even after restricting the project's access.
