List of supported custom fields for request types in Jira Service Management customer portals

Note that this knowledge base article was created for the Data Center version of the product. Data Center knowledge base articles for non-Data Center-specific features may also work for Server versions of the product, however they have not been tested. Lastly updated for the Jira Service Management (JSM) version 3.2.x.

You can add the following types of custom fields to your request types, and make them visible on the customer portal:

  • Checkbox
  • Date picker
  • Date time picker
  • Label
  • Number field
  • Radio Button
  • Select List
    • Single choice
    • Multiple choice
    • Cascading
  • Text field
    • Single-line
    • Multi-line
  • URL field
  • User picker
    • Single user
    • Multiple user

You can add the following types of custom fields can be added to your request types and give them a preset value, but you cannot make them visible on the customer portal:

  • Group picker
  • Project picker
  • Version picker
  • Linked issues
