Summary

While creating a project in the instance, getting the below error:
The project not created, 
For some reason, the magic didn't happen. Click Create to try again.

Environment

Jira Cloud

Diagnosis

When creating TMP or CMP project, getting the below error "For some reason the magic didn't happen. Click Create to try again.

• We checked from internal tool, no problem with the license (Trial).
• We checked Permission schemes and permission to create a project but all okay.
• We checked Logs and found these errors on the Splunk log: msg: An issue type with the name 'Story' exists already. stack: java.lang.IllegalStateException: An issue type with the name 'Story' exists already.

Cause

We found the log files of this error and found out that this is being caused by duplicate issue types:

msg: An issue type with the name 'Story' exists already.
stack: java.lang.IllegalStateException: An issue type with the name 'Story' exists already.

Solution

The projects rely on existing content to create their own assets, thus the duplicated name blocks its creation. Thus, the customer has created another issue type with the name "story" due to which he is not able to create a project.
