Symptoms

Notifications are not sent for workflow transitions.

Cause

JIRA requires events to be triggered in post functions as part of the workflow transition in order to allow notification schemes to send emails out.

Resolution

Add the event trigger to the post-function to trigger the event listeners:

1. Begin with Using a post function to send a notification.
2. Create a corresponding Notification Scheme.
3. Finally, consider a custom Listener.
