Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.
Summary
Customers may encounter an issue where projects unexpectedly appear during the Assist setup in Microsoft Teams, even though there are no connections in the "JSM Chat" settings in Jira Service Management. This problem often stems from legacy Halp connections that are not visible in the current integration settings.
Diagnosis
Projects appear during the Assist setup in Microsoft Teams without having any connections in the "Project Settings > JSM Chat" settings.
Users have previously used Halp integrations, which might have left underlying connections.
Cause
Legacy Halp connections that are not visible in the current JSM Chat settings can cause projects to appear incorrectly during new Assist setup processes.

Reconnect and Disconnect the Project:
Log in to your Jira Service Management instance.
Navigate to the project that is unexpectedly appearing during Assist setup.
Go to Project Settings and select JSM Chat.
Even if no connections are visible, proceed to connect the project with Microsoft Teams again.
