Unable to access Jira Service Management functionality as an agent

Problem

When accessing a Service Management Project, queues, SLAs and other functionality are not visible as per the screenshot below. In this example the project is a Jira Service Management project.

Additionally attempting to access any settings through Project Administration leads to permission errors as below.

Errors will not be present in the logs.

Diagnosis

If the symptoms above apply it's likely that you could be affected by this behaviour.

Cause

The user is either not a Jira Service Management agent, or the permissions are configured to allow them access.

Resolution

  1. Use the Jira Admin Helper to verify the permissions. For example:
  2. Update them as suggested, using the 'Add new permission' functionality.

This will provide those users access to the Jira Service Management functionality.
