Symptoms

Users trying to rank issues receive a message like "You do not have permission to rank issue 'TST-2' [ID: 24,211]. To rank an issue, you must have the schedule permission on that issue." See this screenshot:

Cause

The user doesn't have the proper permissions to rank issues in this JIRA project.

Resolution

You'll want to ensure that your users have the "Schedule Issues" permission. There are two methods for checking project permissions:

1. Navigate to the Project Summary administration page and verify which is the permission scheme this project is using.
2. Navigate to Permission schemes and check the "Schedule Issues" permission.
