Summary

User with the "Object Schema Manager" role is not allowed to configure the Object Schema import.

When an "Object Schema Manager" user tries to access the "Import" tab in the configuration of the Object Schema, they are facing the following error:

Only Jira Administrators are permitted to configure import configurations

Environment

Insight Asset Management between 8.6.11 and 8.6.14.

Diagnosis

Even though the user has Object Schema Manager permissions, they are not allowed to proceed with the Object Schema Import configuration.

Cause

As described in What's new in Insight 8.6.11 for Data Center, Insight 8.6.11 introduced the requirement to allow the import configuration only to Jira administrator users.

This validation has changed again in Insight 8.6.15, as described in Insight 8.6.15 Release notes. The import security has been refined so that all import types, except LDAP and Database imports, can be handled by Object Schema Managers. LDAP and Database imports are still restricted to Jira administrators.

Solution

Update the Insight Asset Management plugin to version 8.6.15 or higher.
