This feature allow you to have more control on how things are scheduled. Defines how Portfolio's scheduling algorithm can sequence your issues with dependencies.
- Go to
> Scheduling > Scheduling options > Dependency scheduling and select the option you want to apply:
Option 1-Rank dependent work item below required item (Set by default)
Story 1 is blocked by Story 4
This option will make the schedule move Story 1 below Story 4 during scheduling.
The stories between Story 1 and Story 4 will be ranked above Story 4 and Story 1 during scheduling.
Option 2-Rank required work item above dependent item
Story 1 is blocked by Story 4
This option is saying: move Story 4 above Story 1 during scheduling.
All the stories in between Story 1 and Story4 will be ranked above Sa and Sb during scheduling
Option 3-Off
The schedule ignores dependencies and therefore, takes the standard ranking of those items. The dependencies will be still visible in the schedule.
