You can create a page from anywhere within Confluence by clicking this icon. This is located beside each space on the Dashboard or at the top of every page. Pages in Confluence are written using a simple notation that allows for all the styles available in a standard text editor:
- Text Formatting: bold, underline, italics, strike
headings, and so on
- Linking to anywhere within or outside Confluence
- Images/attachments
Tables
You get the idea. And to help you along the way, the quick notation guide is conveniently placed beside the edit screen. Confluence allows for some complex styling and formatting. Click on the full notation guide in your help window to learn more about these.
To create a page,
- Click on the 'Add Page' link from anywhere in Confluence.
- Enter a 'Title' for your page.
If you added a page from another page, Confluence will default the new page as the parent page for the new page. If you want to specify a different parent, select it by clicking on the 'Choose a Page' icon or use the Search facility (currently being built). Or else, simply type in the name of the parent page.
If you want to move the page directly under the root directory of a space, leave this field blank.
- Choose a space from the drop down menu,
- Click 'Add'.
