Diagnosis

The new issue will inherit most of the information from the original issue, such as priority, component, and labels. However, details like work logs, comments, issue history, and links will not be transferred. Despite this, the original issue will remain connected to the new one through a issue link. This issue link will serve as the mechanism to replicate the field values to the new issue.

Solution

In order to accomplish this, you will need to follow the below steps:

• Create an automation link with the trigger selected as "Issue Link".
• Select the link type as "Issue Split"

• Add conditions based on the requirement.
• Select a branch "For Destination Issue"
• Select the Edit Action with the desired field and configure it to copy from the Trigger Issue.
