Jira Align State to Jira Status Error: For the Jira Issue's current status (< Origin Jira Status ID> - < Origin Jira Status name>), a Jira transition to map from a Jira Align State (<Origin Jira Align State ID> - < Origin Jira Align State name>) to Jira Status (< Destination Jira Status ID> - < Destination Jira Status name>) could not be found.Please check the Jira Align State to Jira Status mappings. 

Cause

This error happens when you update a Jira Align state on a integrated work item expecting to update the Jira Status according to your State Mapping.

It means Jira has blocked this status update on its side.

There are a few reasons for that to happen

• The Jira Projects Workflow doesn't have a transition between the Origin Status to the Destination Status.
  • Example: Note in the Workflow below, assume a Story is in In Progress status, as the workflow doesn't have a transition (Arrow) from In Progress to Test Complete the user can't update from In Progress to Test Complete.
    The same rule applies on Jira Align, if you try to update the Jira Align states that are mapped as In Progress to Test Complete, Jira will block the transition to happen, and thow the error above into the audit log.
    
• Jira Align State mapping misconfigured.
  • Make sure you're state mapping are properly mapped matching the Jira States with the Jira Status on Jira Align > Administration > Jira Settings > Manage Projects > your Project state mapping > Story or Feature

• Make sure you're state mapping are properly configured.

• Review if the Jira Status mentioned on the error has transitions between them, if not create it, or allow to All Status to update to it.
