If your JIRA home directory becomes locked, your JIRA installation that uses it will be prevented from running.

This is most likely to occur because another JIRA installation is connected to the same JIRA home directory. To resolve this issue:

  1. Ensure all JIRA installations that use your JIRA home directory have been shut down.
  2. Only re-start the JIRA installation you wish to run.
