ScreenshotApplet throws ClassNotFoundException (com.atlassian.jira.screenshot.applet.ScreenshotApplet.class)
Symptoms
When using the Attach Screenshot functionality, the following ClassNotFoundException was thrown on the JIRA UI.
com.atlassian.jira.screenshot.applet.ScreenshotApplet.class
Diagnosis
The client machine running the browser has Java 7 installed in their machine.
Cause
As explained in JRA-30747 - Getting issue details... STATUS , this is a known issue related to the use of Java 7 in the browser.
Workaround
On the Client machine, uninstall Java 7
Re-install the SUPPORTED version of Java 6 (update 18 or higher is required; update 24 or higher is recommended)

Resolution:
Upgrade JIRA to version 6.0, where this issue is fixed.
