What is an Atlassian User Group (AUG)?

AUGs are informal gatherings for Atlassian users, developers and enthusiasts to discuss common interests, challenges and best practices relating to Atlassian tools. User Group meetups can consist of a few members chatting over coffee, a product release party at a local pub or a seminar with multiple speakers and product demos. In the interest of keeping the user group community agnostic, official Atlassian Experts are not eligible to host events. AUGs are for users and run by users; however, we welcome Expert involvement through our sponsorship program!

Why Join?

Access to Experts. Meet people who have used Atlassian tools for years and know the ins and outs.
Atlassian participation. 1-1 time offered with Atlassian product specialists to answer any questions and help with presentations. When possible, Atlassians will attend events or Skype in.
Get real. Real technical support from real users. Open and honest discussions with users who aren't paid to tell you what works and what doesn't.
Hear news first. Many user groups are scheduled around product releases ensuring the freshest content at meetings.
Meet friends. Crack a beer and enjoy a slice of pizza with people in your neighborhood.
Spread the love. Everyone's experience with Atlassian tools is unique, so share yours with us and the world!

Let's summarize everything in classic bullet-point form:

An AUG is

  • Free to attend and open to everyone
  • Independently led by users and developers, with support from Atlassian
  • An ongoing group that meets regularly

An AUG is NOT

  • Run by Atlassian or any official partners of Atlassian
  • A place to hear smarmy sales pitches
  • A one-off or closed event
