This is considered a customization, and therefore isn't eligible for support as described in Atlassian Support Offerings. This has been tested in Confluence 4.3.3.

Purpose

By default, in Confluence the bullet style will be a circle. You can change the bullet style on global/space level or page level.

Solution

Change bullet style on global or space level

  1. Navigate to the Stylesheet screen
    1. If you would like to change the bullet style globally, navigate to Browse >> Confluence Admin >> Stylesheet
    2. If you would like to change the style on a certain space, navigate to Browse >> Space Admin >> Stylesheet
  2. Add the following CSS:

    .wiki-content ul {
    list-style-type: square;
    }
  3. You can change square to your desired bullet style. You can find more examples here.

Change bullet style on page level

  1. Ensure that the HTML Macro is enabled
  2. Insert an HTML Macro at the top of the page, and put the following as its body:

    <style>
    .wiki-content ul {
    list-style-type: square;
    }
    </style>
  3. You can change square to your desired bullet style. You can find more examples here.
