Exporting long URL's to Excel on IE cause "Page not found" error
Symptoms
When an user tries to export data to Excel which gathers a lot of information, the action is not completed and the user receives a "Page not found" error.
Cause
This happens because Internet Explorer has a limit of 2,083 characters in the URL, with no more than 2,048 characters in the path portion of the URL. Attempts to use URLs longer than this produced a clear error message in Internet Explorer.
Workaround
Use another browser which support longer URL values.
Firefox (Browser)
After 65,536 characters, the location bar no longer displays the URL in Mozilla Firefox, however, longer URLs will work.
Safari (Browser)
Support more at least 80,000 characters on the URL.
