Problem

When an evaluation instance of Confluence is installed the most common way to connect to Confluence is by placing http://localhost:8090 in the browser.  However, this only works when enacted on the server where Confluence has been installed.

Solution

The easiest way to allow other users to access the instance is by using the machine name or IP address of the server where Confluence is installed to connect.

For example  http://<IPAddress>:8090 or http://<MyComputerName>:8090, where <IPAddress> and <MyComputerName> are specific to the server where Confluence has been installed.

(info) Note: This will only work for client machines which are on the same network as the machine running Confluence.
