Symptoms

When an attachment is dropped on the Drag and Drop area in JIRA, the attachment is loaded by the browser instead of attached to the issue.

Cause

This is caused by a context mis-match between the JIRA server and the proxy that it is integrated with.

Workaround

To work around this issue, simply use the Attach Files option from the Operations Bar to save files to an issue.

Resolution

• Review your JIRA server and proxy settings to ensure there is agreement of context

  • Context is the part after the URL and port number: jira.example.com:8080/context
