Confluence takes a different approach to sharing and interacting with content. To take full advantage of Confluence, your documents would be Confluence pages themselves-- continually accessible via the browser, while supporting various forms of rich content, dynamic reports, and threaded discussions. In this way, Confluence was designed to actually reduce dependence on static documents and email threads.

That said, Confluence allows you to interact with existing documents you might like to reference on a page, or use to supplement page content. Just to name a few:

• drag and drop attachments onto a page
• embed and edit Office documents directly from a page
• display lists of attachments on pages
• label individual attached documents
• version changes made to a document
• search the content of attached documents
