v7.0.0 - 6 October 2015

The Atlassian JIRA Core team is proud to announce the initial release of JIRA Core! JIRA Core has been designed specifically for business teams, with super simple workflows that help you and your team get your work done.

If you've used JIRA before, you'll be familiar with some of the concepts in JIRA Core, but if you're new to JIRA Core or want to brush up on the basics, have a look at the JIRA Core overview page which takes you through the basics of JIRA Core. It covers concepts and terminology, and if you browse the pages in that section, you'll gain a better understanding of how JIRA Core is set up, and how you and your team can get the most out of JIRA Core.

If you're a more hands-on type of person, our getting started guides will take you through setting up your first instance and adding some users, administering a project, and working within that project. We have guides for administrators, project administrators, and users. You'll soon understand how a...

in a project!

While JIRA Core works right out of the box, and you can get up and running in your first project straight away, the true power of JIRA Core comes in it's configurability and customizations, and that's performed by your JIRA administrator. We have documentation on that too, and it'll help you make the changes and tweaks to JIRA Core so that you're set up to work the way you need to. We also have a tips and tricks page that'll give you some inspiration on how you can get JIRA Core to work for you.
