This page tells you how to attach and insert an image, using the 'Insert Image' icon
on the editor toolbar. You can also use Wiki Markup to insert an image.
|
You can click the 'Insert Image' icon in either Wiki Markup mode or the Rich Text editor. The functionality described below is basically the same for both editing modes. |
To insert an image,
- First, save your image somewhere on your computer or a network drive. For example, if your image is a screenshot you first need to save it. You can't paste the screenshot directly onto a Confluence page.
- Click the 'Insert Image' icon in the toolbar:

- This will open the 'Insert Image' window. If you have already attached images to the page, they will be listed in the 'Insert Image' window.
- If you want to attach a new image:
- Click the 'Browse' button.
- Select your file from your computer or your network.
- Click the 'Attach' button.
- If you want to display an image attached to the page, click one of the attached images. The image name will appear in the 'Filename' text box.
- If you want to display a remote image, enter the URL in the 'File Name' text box.
- If you want the Confluence page to display a smaller version of your image rather than the full-size image, click the 'Thumbnail' checkbox. This will also hyperlink the image - if the user clicks the image, a new window will open displaying the full-size image.
- If you want to control the placement of the image on the page, select a value from the 'Alignment' dropdown list. Available values are 'None' (i.e. default), 'Left', 'Centre' and 'Right'.
- Click 'OK' to insert the image on the Confluence page.
