If you're planning to upgrade to Jira Service Desk 4.5.x, we advise upgrading to version 4.5.2 or later as several known issues have been fixed in this version. 


Compatible applications

If you're looking for compatible Jira applications, look no further:

Jira Service Desk 4.5 is a Long Term Support release
This means we'll provide bug fix releases until 4.5 reaches end of life, to address critical security, stability, data integrity, and performance issues.

Mindville Insight is now part of Jira Service Desk Data Center

With the release of Jira Service Management 4.15, we've made the Mindville's Insight - Asset Management app available to all Data Center customers. The versions 4.15 and later include this app and its capabilities out of the box, but if you're not ready to upgrade, you can download it for any earlier version of Jira Service Desk (now called Jira Service Management) Data Center for free.

Getting started with Insight

To get the app, install the latest version from the Atlassian Marketplace. You won't need an app license, as we'll recognize your Data Center license. We also recommend that you upgrade the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM) to the latest version, we've made some updates to make it work better with these free apps.

What about Server?

If you’re a server customer and already have Insight - Asset Management, you can continue to renew your license. If you’ve never used this app before, you’ll need to upgrade to Data Center.

Performance improvements

Jira Service Desk 4.5 is our fastest version ever! We have performance improvements in almost all scenarios across the product, under high load. Here are some highlights:

  • Viewing queues with SLAs is now 10x faster
  • Adding a comment in the customer portal is now 3x faster 
  • Viewing queue: all open issues is 3x faster
  • Creating a customer request is 2.5x faster 
  • Viewing customers/organizations page is now 2.5x faster
  • Viewing a service desk issue in the agent view is 2x faster

Overall, we have cut down the response time by 20% to 90% in all scenarios with the exception of "Invite team" with no improvements, and a slight 50ms degradation in "View a customer request on the customer portal".
