1. Get your license

With Bonfire 1.0, you will need a valid license to activate Bonfire. Visit https://my.atlassian.com to generate a license key. Note that you can still generate evaluation licenses for Bonfire if you will like to continue evaluating it free for 30 days.

2. Upgrade the Bonfire plugin on the JIRA server

  1. In JIRA, go to "Administration", then "Plugins" to open the Universal Plugin Manager
  2. Go to the "Manage Existing" tab in the Universal Plugin Manager (if not already there), and search for the 'Bonfire' plugin entry.
  3. Click 'Upgrade' button. A confirmation message and the plugin details will display, if it is installed successfully.
  4. Restart JIRA.
  5. Back in JIRA, go to "Administration" then "License Details" under "Bonfire"
  6. Paste your license key in and click "Add".

3. Re-install Bonfire Browser extensions

Due to significant changes to the Bonfire browser extensions from the beta versions to 1.0 final, all browser extensions will need to be re-installed. Browser extensions from Bonfire Beta will not work with the 1.0 final version of Bonfire.

The auto-update functionality in Firefox, Chrome, or Safari will not upgrade the browser extensions to the 1.0 final compatible version.


Firefox

  1. Remove Bonfire for Firefox BETA. In Firefox, go to "Preferences", then "Manage Add-ons". Find "Atlassian Bonfire" and click "Remove". "Restart" Firefox when prompted.
  2. Download the new Bonfire for Firefox from JIRA. In JIRA, go to the "Get Bonfire" page in your user name drop down in the top right. "Download" Bonfire for Firefox. Click "Allow" and "Install" when prompted. "Restart" Firefox.
  3. Start using Bonfire for Firefox by clicking on the icon in the toolbar in the top right. Alternatively, you can start Bonfire by Going to "Tools -> Bonfire" in the Firefox menu.


Chrome

  1. Remove Bonfire for Chrome BETA. In Chrome, right click on the  icon in the toolbar in the top right, and select "Uninstall".
  2. Download the new Bonfire for Chrome from JIRA. In JIRA, go to the "Get Bonfire" page in your user name drop down in the top right. "Download" Bonfire for Chrome. When prompted, click "Continue", then "Install".
  3. To start Bonfire for Chrome, click on the   icon in the toolbar in the top right.


Safari

  1. Remove Bonfire for Safari BETA. In Safari, to to "Preferences", then "Extensions". Find "Atlassian Bonfire" and click "Uninstall".
  2. Download the new Bonfire for Safari from JIRA. In JIRA, go to the "Get Bonfire" page in your user name drop down in the top right. "Download" Bonfire for Safari, then double-click "bonfire-latest.safariextz" in the Downloads dialog. When prompted, "Install" Atlassian Bonfire
  3. To start Bonfire for Safari, click on the   icon in the toolbar in the top left.


Internet
Explorer

  1. Remove Bonfire for Internet Explorer BETA. In Windows, go to "Control Panel", then "Add and Remove Programs" and find "Atlassian Bonfire".
  2. Download the new Bonfire for Internet Explorer from JIRA. In JIRA, go to the "Get Bonfire" page in your user name drop down in the top right. "Download" Bonfire for Internet Explorer. Click "Run" when prompted to start the Bonfire Installer. Please ensure Internet Explorer is closed for the installer to run.
  3. After the installer is complete - restart Internet Explorer. To start Bonfire for Internet Explorer, click on the   icon in the toolbar.
