Sometimes you may need to edit the name, start date or end date of a sprint.
Please note:
- This page only applies to Scrum boards.
- You will need to have the JIRA 'Project Administrator' permission in the project(s) whose issues are included in the sprint.
In GreenHopper 6.0.5 and later:
To edit or rename a Sprint,
- Log in to JIRA.
Click the Agile link's down-arrow in the top navigation bar, then select your preferred board from the resulting dropdown menu.
- Your board will be displayed.
- Click Plan.
- Mouseover the sprint name (or date), click and type the new name (or date), then press Enter.
The Start Date and End Date are not specified until you start the sprint.
In GreenHopper 6.0.4 and earlier:
To edit or rename an active Sprint,
- Log in to JIRA.
Click the Agile link's down-arrow in the top navigation bar, then select your preferred board from the resulting dropdown menu.
- Your board will be displayed.
- Click Plan.
- Click the sprint name to display the "Edit" screen (see Screenshot 2) where you can update the Sprint Name, Start Date and End Date.
To rename a future Sprint,
- Log in to JIRA.
Click the Agile link's down-arrow in the top navigation bar, then select your preferred board from the resulting dropdown menu.
- Your board will be displayed.
- Click Plan.
- Mouseover the sprint name (see Screenshot 1), click and type the new name, then press Enter.
The Start Date and End Date are not specified until you start the sprint.
