An orphaned page is a page without any incoming links. This could either be because it was created without a parent, or because its parent was subsequently deleted. What this means is that unless you know that this page exists, you are not likely to come across it in the space during the natural course of navigation.

When you are working in a large space with a number of pages, it is difficult to keep track of them. An orphaned page may be redundant or need to be linked to a parent. This view allows you to "tidy up" the space by either deleting pages or reorganizing them such that they work best in your space.

To view the orphaned pages in a space,

  1. Click on the 'Browse Space' link at the top of the page.

  2. Go to the tab 'Advanced' and click on 'Orphaned Pages' from the left panel.

You can delete an orphaned page by clicking the 'trash' icon beside it.
