Symptoms

After creating a new page from a template, which included various tasks assigned to various contributors, some of those users reported that some tasks are not showing up in their task list (https://example.atlassian.net/wiki/plugins/inlinetasks/mytasks.action)

Cause

Create the template and add one or more Task Lists:

  • Type your task here, using "@" to assign to a user and "//" to select a due date

After changes are saved, edit the template, then edit the linked name. In the Edit Link dialog box, the link location should be People > Your Account

Note that while in the Edit Link dialog box, the options on the left hand side can be inadvertently changed from Search, which is the correct/default value that should be leveraged:

Search

Recently viewed

Web link

Advanced

Resolution

Ensure that Search is selected by default in the Edit Link dialog box (People > Your Account)

Clicking Recently viewed, Web link, or Advanced will effectively deactivate the task, thus the task won't be visible to the user. Additionally, the template will appear to have various tasks, but in reality those tasks do not exist, which can cause confusion.
