You can change the password the Bitbucket Data Center and Server uses to connect to an external database, however you don't do this from the Bitbucket Administration area – you must follow the procedure described below.
To change the password that Bitbucket uses when connecting to an external database:
- Stop Bitbucket. See Starting and stopping Bitbucket.
- Get your database administrator to change the password on your database.
Go to your Bitbucket home directory.
Edit the
bitbucket.properties
file to change the line that looks like:jdbc.password=MY_PASSWORD
replacing
MY_PASSWORD
with your new database password.- Restart Bitbucket. See Starting and stopping Bitbucket.
