If you have linked two applications, you can also link between entities of the two applications. An entity is one of the following:
Adding an Entity Link
To add an entity link:
- Log into your application as an administrator and navigate to the administration page for the entity:
- Choose the entity in your local application that you want to link from. For example, you may want to link a FishEye repository to another entity.
- The instructions for adding an entity will vary depending on whether the target application has UAL:
- If the target application for the entity has UAL:
- Click 'Add Link'. A dropdown menu will display listing all of the applications you have already linked to.
- In the dropdown menu, click the application that contains the entity that you want to link to. For example, if you want to link to a specific JIRA project, click the JIRA server that contains the JIRA project.
- Click either of the options on the 'Authorization required' screen:
- 'Authorize' — Click this option if you want to allow authorised access to the target entity, by your entity. The target application will open in a new window, so that you can log in and authorise access.
- 'Skip – your access is anonymous' — Click this option if you only want to allow anonymous access to the target entity, by your entity.
- In the 'Name or Key' field, enter the name/key for the entity in the remote application that you want to link to. For example, if you want to link to a JIRA project, enter the project key.
- Click the 'Create' button to create the entity link.
- If the target application for the entity does not have UAL:
- Click 'Add Link'. A dropdown menu will display listing all of the applications you have already linked to.
- In the dropdown menu, click the application that contains the entity that you want to link to. For example, if you want to link to a specific JIRA project, click the JIRA server that contains the JIRA project.
- Enter the name/key for the entity in the remote application that you want to link to, in the 'Key' field. For example, if you want to link to a JIRA project, enter the project key.
- (optional) Enter the alias for the entity in the 'Alias' field. This is the display name for the entity in your administration console.
- Click the 'Create' button to create the entity link.
