Type two curly braces {{, your text, then another two curly braces }}. Confluence autoformat will convert the text to monospace immediately. Example:

    I now have a document full of {{ and }} combinations.  We're converting over from what, redmine I guess.  The way it did @monospace was like this@, enclosed in @ signs.  So I went thru and changed all my @ signs to {{ and }}.  Only in a few cases it changed to monospace.  Should I just have deleted it all and gone without the formatting?
