Explanation of some of the buttons
Source
Source gives you the possibility to edit the html source for the template.
Placeholder dropdown
There is a placeholder dropdown available containing all the attributes for the Object Schema:
Some of the attributes may be specific for an Object Type. Using the same template for other object types will render a text "No Value" in the printed labels.
For example: An attribute IMEI belongs to a Smart Phone object. If you insert IMEI as a placeholder in the label template, then for any smart phone object, the template will pick up the value for IMEI and print the label.
However, if you use that same template to print the label of a Department object which does not have a IMEI attribute at all, then the printed label will display a text "No Value" for the IMEI attribute.
Additionally, if you have a language setting enabled for Insight e.g Spanish, the the "No Value" text will be displayed as "Sin valor"
At the top of the placeholder dropdown, there is an placeholder called ATTRIBUTE LIST. This placeholder will add an additional configuration when printing an template, where you can select the attribute you want.
Placeholders will be replaced with the attribute values for each object. Each placeholder is surrounded by [[ ]] and marked in yellow:
2. Responsive height field
When configuring your template, you have an option to give your template responsive height:
If your content won't fit your defined height, you can set this option to allow it to expand. This might be useful in combination with the ATTRIBUTE LIST placeholder, if you have a lot of placeholder to print.
3. Border
When configuring your template, you have an option to select/not select border for it. You can do so with the help of the checkbox provided.
The screenshots below show how the printed labels look like with and without borders respectively.
Adding images
You can add images to the template very easy by clicking the Add button:
Images can also be resized by double clicking the image to open the image dialog, or by dragging from the bottom right corner :
Image placeholders
There are two available image placeholders:
- QR Code
- Object Avatar
Update, upload and delete images
There is support for uploading images.
By ticking the option "Global", the image will be shared among all Object Schemas. This might be useful if you have an image that multiple Object Schemas might use, such as an company logo.
Each image that you upload can be updated at any time, but it can't be deleted if it's used in a template.
Moving content around in the template
There are 3 ways to move content around in the template
- Copy & Paste
- Editing the html source
- Images and placeholder can be dragged from the top left corner
