The Bitbucket Data Center 10.4 release is now available for upgrade.
Highlights include:
Change pull request author
For: END USERS ADMINS
Bitbucket Data Center 10.4 introduces a safer way to delegate pull request ownership without deleting and recreating the pull request. When work changes hands, you can keep the existing pull request and retain its build results, comments, tasks, discussion, and review context while changing the author from the UI or REST API.
This is useful when the person who opened a pull request is no longer the best owner for the work, when a pull request was opened by automation or a service account, or when a team needs another developer to take over the author-facing workflow while the pull request stays intact.
Delegate ownership without losing creator safeguards
Previously, the pull request author represented both the current owner of the pull request and the user who originally created it. In Bitbucket 10.4, those responsibilities are separated:
Author is the current pull request owner. This user appears as the author in pull request views and can be changed when author changes are allowed.
Creator is the user who originally created the pull request. This value preserves the original creation identity and is used to keep approval and reviewer restrictions intact.
This split lets teams delegate author responsibilities while still protecting against self-review workflows. Changing the author does not erase who created the pull request, and the creator remains restricted from approving the pull request or being added as a reviewer.
Revert merged pull requests

You can now revert a merged pull request in Bitbucket Data Center with the ‘Revert’ button on a pull request overview page. Only merge strategies that result in a single commit are currently supported.

Filter pull request email notifications
For: END USERS
Bitbucket Data Center now lets you choose which pull request events send you an email notification, so you can keep only the alerts that matter to you.
Notifications grouped into four categories
Comments: new comments and replies on a pull request.
Mentions: when someone @mentions you, replies or reacts to your comment, adds you as a reviewer, or removes your approval.
State Changes: updates to a pull request such as author, draft state, reviewers, review status, lifecycle, and merge queue changes.
Code changes: new commits, target branch changes, and conflicts.
Separate settings for pull requests you author and review
You often care more about a pull request you opened than one you're reviewing. You can now configure each category independently for:
Pull requests you are authoring
Pull requests you are reviewing or watching
