Update to JIRA 7.0-OD-02 and Service Desk 2.6-OD-10 releases

At Atlassian we pride ourselves on getting new features to our customer as soon as possible, so that they can gain as much value from them as they can. We work on the principle that the sooner we release a feature, the sooner we can get feedback, and the sooner we can improve the feature based on that crucial feedback. This feedback loop helps us build features that our customers want and need as opposed to what we think they want and need.

Occasionally, we don't quite get it right.

Last week we published a blog for the upcoming week, 23rd to the 29th of August. We stated that the JIRA 7.0-OD-02 release contained no new features and was a simple bug fix release. This was incorrect, we actually shipped several features in that release, including an improvement to attaching images and files, inline issue create for all projects, and the much requested ability to share configurations with an existing project when you create a new project. We also neglected to add details about the JIRA Service Desk 2.6.0-OD-10 release, which included new default notification content and a new feature which now pre-populates a comment when an agent responds to a customer. The full documentation updates are being completed imminently, and the details have been updated on this page.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, and are currently reviewing our process for releasing updates for JIRA.

Thanks for your patience,

Warren Thompson
