Limit Jira Service Management project visibility to customers on portal

Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.

Purpose

You may need to restrict which customers can view the customer portal (and submit requests) for a service project on your help center. Service projects offer an option to restrict access to it.

If you want to fully disable/hide a service project's portal, you can follow the steps found in the following document:

Solution

  1. Go to Project settings > Customer permissions (OR Project settings > Channels > Customer permissions for Team-managed service projects).

  2. Under Channel Access, select Restricted - Only people directly invited to this project can submit requests.
  3. Save.

 

This will restrict the project to customers and customer organizations specifically added to the project, meaning no customers will be able to view the portal for the project unless an agent or administrator adds them to it.

Please note that as a project administrator, you will still view the project's portal on your help center even after restricting the project's access.
