Profile Visibility Defaults for Managed and UnManaged Accounts

Atlassian Cloud

Description

Your Atlassian Cloud profile shows information like your email address, avatar, role, and time zone.

When an Atlassian account gets created, some of this information is visible to everyone and some are restricted by default.

The Default Profile visibility options for Managed and Unmanaged accounts are:

For a Managed Account:

Profile PhotoAnyone
Full NameAnyone
Public NameAnyone
Job TitleAnyone
DepartmentRestricted to Organisation
OrganisationRestricted to Organisation
Based in (Location) Restricted to Organisation
Local TimeRestricted to Organisation
Email AddressRestricted to Organisation


Restricted to Organisation essentially means that the information will only be visible to users who are part of the same Atlassian Organisation as the user in question.

Managed Accounts can change the visibility of the above attributes. The following visibility options are available to them:

  1. Anyone
  2. Organisation

However, the attributes Email Address and Profile Photo have a few more visibility options:

Email Address:

  1. Anyone
  2. Organisation
  3. Only you and Admins

Profile Photo:

  1. Anyone
  2. Organisation
  3. Only you

For an Unmanaged Account:

Profile PhotoAnyone

Public NameAnyone
Job TitleAnyone
DepartmentAnyone
OrganisationAnyone
Based in (Location) Anyone
Local TimeAnyone
Email Address

Only you and Admins

Unmanaged Accounts can change the visibility of the following attributes only:

  1. Based in - Options available are Anyone and Only you
  2. Local time - Options available are Anyone and Only you
  3. Email address - Options available are Anyone, Only you and 'Only you and Admins'
