Summary

While upgrading to Confluence 7.9 and above, users get this Warning in the logs

"com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Invalid object name 'CONFZDU'"

Environment

7.9 and above

Cause

  • The above mentioned warning is expected and it can be safely ignored. This is in the logs because table is related to the Zero Downtime Upgrade that it included in 7.9+. If you are upgrading from a version lower than 7.9, it is safe to ignore it. You will be getting a message similar to below in logs which say that Unable to determine ZDU status from database. If you are upgrading from a Confluence version prior to 7.9, this is expected.
  • The complete logs will be similar to the below snippet

    [confluence.impl.setup.DefaultBootstrapDatabaseAccessor] readValue Unable to determine ZDU status from database. If you are upgrading from a Confluence version prior to 7.9, this is expected.
    com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Invalid object name 'CONFZDU'.
