Symptoms

The system becomes unresponsive when a Jira Issues Macro that queries the entire set of JIRA issues is invoked.

Cause

Prior to JIRA 3.13, the jiraissues macro does not page its results. A jiraissues macro without limits can incur significant processing to compile the Jira query result. If using form field markup for templates in combination with the jiraissues macro, the markup parameters may be getting ignored causing an unexpected result.

Resolution

Upgrade JIRA to 3.13 or above.
