Symptoms

The Blog Posts Macro does not display any posts when used on a page, as if there are no posts. However, the blogs are there when the user navigates to Browse > Blog.

No errors are shown in the UI or in the logs.

Cause

There are multiple causes that could lead to blog posts to be hidden when using the macro.

  1. The index is not built correctly. The macro relies on the index to populate its entries.
  2. The user is a member of the super user group 'confluence-administrators', but has not been explicitly granted the Space Permissions to view content in that space. While the super user group can see any blog posts in Confluence, the blog post macro will only display blogs if the user has Space Permissions

Resolution

For Cause #1: Try to How to Rebuild the Content Indexes From Scratch on Unclustered Confluence.

For Cause #2: Ensure that the user who cannot see the blog posts has Space Permissions to view content in that space.
