Seeing Java Script Error in Firefox When Using Edit in Word
Symptoms
Edit in Word in Firefox produces a Java Script error in the browser containing the following:
uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsIProcess.init\]" nsresult: "0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/USERNAME/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/

This may happen after you have upgraded into a new Microsoft Office Suite.
Cause
The Firefox file extension may be corrupted.
Resolutions
To resolve this problem,
- In your Firefox Browser, choose
Tools > Add-ons > WebDAV Launcher > Options
. This will bring up a pop up window, with a list of office extensions and the file handler. Delete each of them if you are using Microsoft Office.
OR - Delete Firefox's own file extension. Refer to Mozilla's documentation.
