Summary
The migration of Confluence Server to Confluence Data Center fails after configuring the Data Center settings in the UI.
Environment
Confluence Data Center, migrated from Server version.
Diagnosis
After adding the Data Center cluster values and proceeding with the setup, this error appears in the UI:
"Error occurred during template rendering. Contact your administrator for assistance."
The following error appears in the atlassian-confluence.log file during the setup:
Could not get cluster config from configuration file: The address 'null' is not a valid network addres
Cause
This error is caused by a misconfiguration within the proxy/load balancer that prevents Confluence redirects through the configured front end URL.
Solution
Bypass the load balancer and proxy and access the Confluence datacenter node directly using the server name and direct port to proceed with the migration to datacenter. It's suggested to the network administrators to review the load balancer per our Load balancer configuration options guide.
