Symptoms

• Upon creating a space, the space type dialog appears but seems to load forever / freezes.
• The following appears in the atlassian-confluence.log:

Cause

MySQL server is configured to have NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO mode to be enabled.

Resolution

1. Open the MySQL configuration file my.ini (Windows) or my.cnf (Unix)

2. Find sql_mode and delete NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO. For example, if you have the following...

   sql_mode = NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO
   

   ...change it to...

   sql_mode = NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER

3. Save the file and restart MySQL server
